New Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery - Birdeye, AR

It was a great day at the Governor's Conference room on Tuesday, July 8th, 2008 when Governor Mike Beebe announced the purchase of land for our second State Veterans Cemetery to be located in the Birdeye community on AR 163 about 1/2 mile North of AR 42.  This is located on the East side of Crowley's Ridge near Wynne, in Cross County.  Please see  web site below listing the Governor's press release, and video of the announcement.

Governor Mike Beebe announces the formation of the "Arkansas Yellow Ribbon Task Force".  This group will study Arkansas's current veterans' reintegration efforts and make specific recommendations about what actions our State can take to improve its support of our troops in the months and years after their return from the battlefield.

Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery - North Little Rock, AR

Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue in North Little Rock.  We combined both the traditional ceremonies that were held at the Broadway Bridge and the Little Rock National Cemetery into one event at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

The Little Rock National Cemetery is now closed to new interments and we believe that this year’s ceremony will bring more attention to our state cemetery.  Many of our veterans and the general public are unfamiliar with the cemetery and its location. We hope that you joined us in remembering our veterans and help us in informing the community of the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery and the significance of Memorial Day.

For more information, please contact our Public Affairs Specialist at 501-370-3820.

The Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery is located just north of the North Little Rock Airport.
